Monitoring
Automated Measuring Systems
Downland employ the latest technology to achieve the highest precision. Leica's new TS30 enables us to measure to sub-second and sub-millimeter accuracies. On-board programs allow multiple 3D measurements to be taken very quickly with automated target recognition and motorised drives. This information can be allied to other automated sensors to generate a complete record of movement.
Precise Levelling
Bar code reading levels return sub-millimetre level measurements to monitor for vertical movements of various different structures. High absolute accuracies are achieved by taking datum measurements from remote stable locations.Laser scan time-lapsed measurements
Laser scan measurements can be applied to specific areas of a structure to measure movement or distortion over time in 3D. Multiple measurements are taken and the results averaged using specialised software to filter and improve the accuracy of the data. The results are then fed into another software package to allow comparison between measurements in different epochs. The differences are highlighted by colour and / or contours to identify the areas of interest. Our experienced surveyors monitor buildings, bridges, tunnels, roads, railways and process plant installations.
