First established in 1989, we became a private limited company some ten years later.
The Downland Partnership remains an independent company available to work throughout the world.
Facilities
As a matter of principal, all our instrumentation is of 1st order standard, with our field units specially calibrated to improve on the normal tolerances.
Our range of equipment includes electronic total stations and precise levels, analytical and digital photogrammetric instruments with large and medium format metric cameras, plus on HDS laser scanners.
There are no geographical restrictions as to where we work, with past projects in Europe and the United States of America plus throughout the United Kingdom.
Bill Mowatt BA MRICS - Technical Director
Graduated in 1975, worked extensively on-shore and off-shore in the petrochemical industries carrying out dimensional control operations. Since 1976 worked throughout wide range of industries including distortion measurement, monitoring, refit control, as built models and fabrication control.
Tony Davies - Production Director & QA Manager
Following training between 1974 & 1976 worked in general photogrammetric production until 1987 when specialised in industrial applications of photogrammetry and CAD. Tony has worked extensively throughout the petrochemical industry, as well as in civil, structural and fabrication engineering.
Matthew Read - Survey Manager
Following survey training with the OS has specialised in surveying for civil engineering projects including road, rail and airports, plus extensive survey management for new power station construction.
Robin Ault BA - CAD Manager
Trained in surveying, and subsequently in AutoCad, MicroStation and Vectoworks, plays a dual role with his background in archaeology forming an important link with our work in industrial recording.
Daniel Clayton - Close Range Metrology Specialist
After several years working for Consulting Engineers and Military Agencies he has returned to Downland to control the close range measurement and imaging applications.
